Matthew 26:69-27:10
Inspired thots:
2 instances of disappointment. 2 examples of man's folly ~ a denier and a betrayer.
Peter and Judas.
They were really stretched to their limit in their relationship with the Lord, at that point in time.
One had no turning back, so sad.
Luckily, the other had been forewarned; pre-informed. Knowledge can save.
Bad judgment costs; both men were filled with sorrow and remorse. One was so lost that he did not have any hope - perhaps he didnt really learn from Jesus after all those times with Him. He was so empty; there was nothing left in life for him to go on living.
~> that will be the same for those of us nowadays who are sitting at Jesus' feet but not really absorbing His Word or filling our hearts and lives with His ways (Isa 55:8,9) We will be empty shells, looking pretty on the outside but void of substance.
The other was rash in his speech and actions which cost him his reputation and nearly his eternity. He was informed and he remembered. It was good that what he was taught and told did not go to nought; what he heard and learned, he stored in his heart and mind to be extracted for deliverance and protection.
~> we must ensure that we are not wasting our time by 'being present' but not absorbing and storing the things that can save us.
There is always a fork in our life journey. Would one know which path to move on when the intersection is reached? Only what is truly stored inside can be the pointers.
