Peace & Blessings in Following the LORD

2 Chronicles 15 & 16

Inspired thots

King Asa started his reign as king of Judah by cleansing the land of idols to lead the people back to God. He started well in following the Lord; even seeking Him when the huge Ethiopian and Libyan armies came attacking. God fought on his behalf as he sought Him earnestly.

King Asa continued to enjoy rest when he continue to seek the Lord in his days; even taking harsh measures towards his mother who made an abominable image to Asherah. He removed her as Queen mothr and cut down the idol. His heart was blameless before God until he was fearful or upset with Baasha king of Israel, his brethren, for building a city against him. Asa sinned by resorting to king of Syria instead of seeking God.

The enemy is closer than we think; we tend to seek outside powers instead of God to settle 'home' problems; hence, washing our 'dirty laundry in public'. The first step has begun with Asa; he became proud and turned away from God. God inflict a foot disease on him until he died.

So sad that man should forget easily and fear on seeing a 'storm'. God is able and above ALL things. Keep faithful to Him alone!
