2 Chronicles 2
Inspired thots
Solomon received WISDOM from God as he requested and he also ACTED HUMBLY before God and man.
He ACKNOWLEDGED that God is "greater than all gods". WHO is able to build Him a house since heaven even highest heaven cannot contain Him? He acknowledge his smallness as he declared "who am I to build a house for Him, except as a place to burn incense before Him?" The temple for God is only a representation of Solomon's desire to worship God; not to contain Him for that is impossible.
Solomon UNDERSTOOD how Great is our God; nothing can contain Him; certainly NOT the things of the World.
Solomon was also HUMBLE before man; he humbly asked king Huram, king of Tyre, for the needy woods and craftsmen. He got his request when he presented his request humbly without being pushing, demanding or exalting self but made his request plain and genuine. He was willing to pay for the goods and use his own people in the building of the temple for God.
