It's not about You (or I)

Matthew 9:1-8

Inspired thots:

1) Whenever Jesus performed a miracle, there are always 2 reactions:
i) unbelief
ii) awe

2) That is man's responses to Jesus: either BELIEVE or DOUBT; ACCEPT or REJECT;
i) it really takes the 'simple minded' to believe and accept who Jesus is, and what He does.

3) Doubt or Unbelief is ~> evil. It is 'entertained' in our hearts. v4... only if we have been 'trained' up by it; ie it has become a habit or way of life.
i) we can criticise or think negatively on anything or anyone impulsively.
ii) it is 'pride' or 'self righteousness' at work within. No one can be better than 'I'.

4) Praise God that Jesus forgives our sins... what a burden relieved! v5
i) if it's for our benefit, why not accept it with grace and thankfulness?
Some of the crowd was able to, while the self-righteous and 'knoweth more' couldnt; probably the latter thought,"if I cant, how can anyone else?"
