2 Chronicles 15 & 16
Inspired thots
King Asa started his reign as king of Judah by cleansing the land of idols to lead the people back to God. He started well in following the Lord; even seeking Him when the huge Ethiopian and Libyan armies came attacking. God fought on his behalf as he sought Him earnestly.
King Asa continued to enjoy rest when he continue to seek the Lord in his days; even taking harsh measures towards his mother who made an abominable image to Asherah. He removed her as Queen mothr and cut down the idol. His heart was blameless before God until he was fearful or upset with Baasha king of Israel, his brethren, for building a city against him. Asa sinned by resorting to king of Syria instead of seeking God.
The enemy is closer than we think; we tend to seek outside powers instead of God to settle 'home' problems; hence, washing our 'dirty laundry in public'. The first step has begun with Asa; he became proud and turned away from God. God inflict a foot disease on him until he died.
So sad that man should forget easily and fear on seeing a 'storm'. God is able and above ALL things. Keep faithful to Him alone!
A daily time out with the Lord Jesus, to hear Him speak to ME. I am asking the Lord to share HIS thoughts with ME, to teach me more about Himself, and how I can be drawn closer to Him... for 'His thoughts are not my thoughts and neither are His ways my ways' Isaiah 55:8,9. This blog is not a theological exegesis. This blog is to record down the INSIGHTS & INSPIRATIONS of God's Word to me; speaking LIFE into my life for Abundant life! :)

REMEMBER to be HUMBLE before God
2 Chronicles 13 & 14
Inspired thots
What a DIFFERENCE between Abijah & Asa! Abijah became proud and haughty when he was established as king and did not rely on God while Asa honored God as king by cutting down the Asherahs and cleared the high places of worship. Hence, God honored him in return with peace in the land and success in battles.
It is IMPORTANT to REMEMBER the DEEDS of the Lord in our lives that we DO NOT SIN Against God. Once we forget, we tend to be proud and rely on self than on God; that is where trouble begins to come upon us.
God is great and in control; let us not rely on self but follow His ways which always bless.

Pride Before Fall
2 Chronicles 13
Inspired thots
Rehoboam, Solomon's son, became haughty and proud when he grew older and stronger as Judah's king. He forsook God when he found himself established as king in the land; thinking that he is now strong and able; forgetting that it was God who put him on the throne. Hence, he fell into the enemy's hands.
Yet God is merciful and gracious; He forgives easily when people humble themselves and acknowledge His sovereignty. Truly, it is HE in control of all things; it is better to trust the Lord and submit the whole self to Him. Only good will come when one is humble before God.

Seek God for Life
2 Chronicles 10 & 11
Inspired thots
Jeroboam, son of Nebat, came to Rehoboam, Solomon's heir, for leniency in task; but Solomon had nvr made any Israelite a slave during his rule. Hence, why was Israel making that request to Rehoboam?
Rehoboam chose to ignore the wise counsel of the old men of wisdom to take the counsel of the young inexperienced counselors. How foolish! Yet, it was the Lord's doing. Hence, it is wiser to seek God in every situation than to be 'fighting' against God.
Trouble happens when we seek man or go about life in our own ways and strength.

Doing RIGHT in Everything
2 Chronicles 8 & 9
Inspired thots
Solomon reigned well with God foremost in his heart; he rebuilt the cities for his people to dwell in after 20 years of reign. He did not make any Israelite as slaves but put them in high positions of service. He honored God who is holy by bringing out his Egyptian wife to another house. He offered the required sacrifices and God blessed him with riches and wisdom; more than any other king of his time.
The Queen of Sheba came to seek his wisdom and she was not disappointed. In a way, Solomon testified of God's greatness to her through his hospitality and show of wisdom. She went back fully convinced of God's hand of grace and blessing upon Solomon and Israel.
What a wonderful testimony to people when we walk in the ways of God! How good if our testimony leaves "no more spirit" in those who see our godly lifestyle. Help us Lord!

His Steadfast Love Endures Forever
2 Chronicles 7
Inspired thots
WoW! God ANSWERED Solomon immediately after his prayer of offering; such a dramatic and immediate response. God is Always Hearing and Attentive to those who call upon Him; so unlike man. He is really Awesome; He desires a RIGHTEOUS heart to LOVE Him and Him alone.
v14.. God's people must humble themselves and pray and seek His face, turning from their wicked ways to have God act. His love towards His people never ceases.
God answers Solomon personally in the night with a special declaration to guide him in his ways. It shows His mercy and abounding grace towards those whom He loves.

Inspirations Leading to Insightful Prayers
2 Chronicles 5 & 6
Inspired thots
Solomon finished building the temple for God quickly and dedicated it to Him in grandeur with the whole of Israel present. They were all united in heart, mind and purpose.
Solomon made a beautiful prayer to the Lord in his dedication of the temple; he is wise to acknowledge God for His incomparable supremacy. He humbled himself and his people before God in besieging Him to act kindly upon His people, having insight that the people would sin against God.
Solomon indeed offered a most wholesome prayer of dedication; there were praises, thanksgiving, repentance and supplications with the final call to God on His mercy. Hallelujah! What a great prayer to emulate.

Be QUICK on the Job
2 Chronicles 3 & 4
Inspired thots
King Solomon was quick to get going on the building of the temple of God; he was meticulous in his work with the best of everything for the Lord. He was well organized and followed the Lord's instructions for the temple precisely.
Solomon also gave the BEST to God in this service which is an important lesson to be learned; for God deserves to have the best.

Wise & Humble
2 Chronicles 2
Inspired thots
Solomon received WISDOM from God as he requested and he also ACTED HUMBLY before God and man.
He ACKNOWLEDGED that God is "greater than all gods". WHO is able to build Him a house since heaven even highest heaven cannot contain Him? He acknowledge his smallness as he declared "who am I to build a house for Him, except as a place to burn incense before Him?" The temple for God is only a representation of Solomon's desire to worship God; not to contain Him for that is impossible.
Solomon UNDERSTOOD how Great is our God; nothing can contain Him; certainly NOT the things of the World.
Solomon was also HUMBLE before man; he humbly asked king Huram, king of Tyre, for the needy woods and craftsmen. He got his request when he presented his request humbly without being pushing, demanding or exalting self but made his request plain and genuine. He was willing to pay for the goods and use his own people in the building of the temple for God.

Understanding the Task
2 Chronicles 1
Inspired thots
As Solomon began to reign in Israel, he understood the mammoth task before him; hence, it was easy to cry out to the Lord for the more needful than to seek after physical riches. He saw his role with his people and he was focused on giving his best performance.
It is important to REALIZE the God-given task that is to glorify God and to seek the Creator and Giver for the necessary tools and resources to be well equipped to handle the task. Such tasks are unique and serve to glorify the Creator rather than self.

Honoring God Brings Honor to Self
1 Chronicles 29
Inspired thots
It is amazing and ironic that when one honors God first in his or her life, the honor returns. David and his people honored God with all their freewill offering for the building of the temple for God; and God honored him with "a good old age, full of days, riches and honor;"
How wonderful and awesome is our God to bless those who bless Him. Indeed, David had it RIGHT when he acknowledged that whatever he gave to God as an offering, it has come from God. How important to REMEMBER that when honoring God with offerings and tithes. We are only giving a portion of what BELONGS to Him. Praise the Lord!

Put God FIRST in ALL
1 Chronicles 28
Inspired thots
David prepared all the things needed to build the temple for the Lord for Solomon and gave him encouraging instructions.
"Know the God of your fathers and SERVE HIM with a WHOLE heart and with a WILLING mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, H will be found by you but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever." (v9)
What AWESOME instructions David gave; it could only have come from an experienced life and an applied heart to speak these words. How important is this reminder to put God first in everything; He blesses! Keep walking in God's ways and trusting Him in everything; He is HERE for His people.
How wonderful is my Loving God! I am privileged to be His child! Hallelujah!

A Time & Season To Serve
1 Chronicles 27
Inspired thots
King David appointed the right people to take turns in serving the Lord; his well planned structure allows an orderly work out for Solomon to follow through. There will always be people serving God with this appointment.
So the same with us today; God will call each of His children to serve Him in His own time and season. It is important to embrace the calling at THAT point in time and serve the Lord well. Perhaps God will move us up to another level of service when our 'talents' multiply to multiply more talents.
God is a really interesting God to serve; there is no lack in anything when serving God. Hallelujah!

Seemingly MEAGER BUT IMPORTANT Roles
1 Chronicles 25 & 26
Inspired thots
God is exceedingly orderly and well planned; foresighted; He has anointed many of His people with the necessary talents to serve Him in whatever role is needed. Ministry areas that are seemingly insignificant or miniscule are important to Him; such as the worship team and gatekeepers.
God knows EACH AND EVERY person's talents with a special appointment for service.
The WORSHIP TEAM: set apart for...
> prophesy with musical instruments (25:1)
> prophesy under the direction of the king (25:2)
> prophesy with the lyre in thanksgiving and praise to God (25:3)
> creating music to worship the Lord (25:6)
> singing to the Lord (25:7)
The GATEKEEPERS were appointed to ...
> minister in the house of God (26:12)
> set watch at their gates (26:13)
> care for the storehouses (26:17)
There were those who had charge over God's treasuries while others were appointed officers and judges.

Praising & Thanking God DAILY
1 Chronicles 23
Inspired thots
The Levites were appointed in their priestly duties by king David. They were a big group; David appointed them according to their fathers' house to serve God in His temple. Those Levites who were from 20 years were appointed to serve God.
God was to dwell in their midst; hence, rightfully, praise and thanks should be accorded to Him continuously.
How important to keep praising and thanking God for who He is and what He has done for us. There is an endless list to PRAISE & THANK God every day; every moment of our lives really.
One may cease from one aspect of service like the Levites not carrying the tabernacle any more to serve at the temple which David intends to build through Solomon. One may transit from one area of service to another with the best of effort for the glory of God.

Arise & Build
1 Chronicles 22
Inspired thots
King David prepared the materials for Solomon who has been chosen to build a temple for the Lord. David thinks through the mammoth task on behalf of his son who is young and inexperienced. David passes on a legacy as well as wise words of wisdom to fear the Lord and keep His ways. He instructs Solomon to ARISE and BUILD the sanctuary of God with the innumerable materials prepared.
A great task to be undertaken requires good planning; good planning requires time; a magnificent temple for the Lord cannot be built in one day unless the Lord's hand is in it.
So is a life intended to dedicate or please God. Cleansing comes before Building a holy life to a holy God!
As each has been called, let one Arise & Build to God's glory!

Personal Repentance of Sin
1 Chronicles 21
Inspired thots
David sinned against God by succumbing to the devil's enticement on a national censer; perhaps to prove his greatness. How easy to fall into sin even when there are godly men around to counsel and who can see the wrong in the action. One must be humble to listen to godly counsel and save self from sinning against God.
But thank God that He provided a way of repentance from sin and condemnation with a personal confession and sincere repentance. A personal sin is not personal at all. It can impact others negatively; hence, one must really be careful about sin. Thank God for His great Mercy that He is compassionate towards His people.

The God Who Gives Victory
1 Chronicles 18 - 20

David fought many battles and had victory with the Lord blessing him. He also had mighty men who were loyal and able in battle as well as godly who acknowledged God in their battles. Each played their part for their nation and there was harmony and unity among Israel.

A Caring God Who Blesses
1 Chronicles 17
Inspired thots
King David always has God in his heart and mind; he desired to build God a house to dwell in as he dwelt in his grand palace. He made known his request to Nathan, the prophet who advised him accordingly. God knows and sees EVERYTHING. He spoke to Nathan concerning David and David found courage to approach God PERSONALLY as God revealed His master plan to him.
King David was greatly HUMBLED as he realized how Great God is; He cares for His children especially those who follow after Him. God will bless those who seek Him and as David said, "for what thou has blessed, O Lord, is blessed forever."
REVELATION brings on HUMILITY as one realizes the TRUE nature of God; one cannot but realize how AWESOME God is; not just as a mighty God but one who cares about those who seek and follow Him.

An ATTITUDE of PRAISE to God
1 Chronicles 16
Inspired thots
King David is an exemplary example of Praise to God; he remembers to give the highest praise to God at all times. His focus is always ON God. Praises to God are much more than the prayer of supplication he makes of himself and his people. What a heart for God!

Know to Apply God's Way
1 Chronicles 13 - 15
Inspired thots
King David was inspired to bring back the ark of God after settling down as king of Israel but he forgot to take on the proper procedures in handling the issue. Hence, in chapter 11 Uzzah was stricken by the Lord when his hand touched the ark as the oxen stumbled. There were several wrong approaches in inviting God into their midst.
1) The carriers were not Levites.
2) The carriers were not sanctified.
3) The WAY to carry back the ark was Wrong.
Good intentions may not bring about the desired results if they are not executed correctly according to God's ways. Isaiah 55:8,9.
How important to KNOW to APPLY God's laws and ways so that one might not sin against Him.
How crucial to SEEK God to get the blueprints when He breathes an inspiration.

UNFaithfulness to God Brings UNDesirable End
1 Chronicles 10
Inspired thots
This chapter gives a summary of King Saul; it noted his unfaithfulness to God.
King Saul DID NOT KEEP God's commands; he consulted a medium in seeking guidance instead of seeking the Lord.
However, King Saul did right in taking his own life in his final battle with the Philistines when he was seriously injured instead of facing capture and torture.
His armor-bearer did right too by NOT killing King Saul as he revered God's anointed. The armor-bearer also did right by killing himself after King Saul died. He acted nobly.
The Israelites DID RIGHT by coming to take away the bodies of Saul and his sons to Jabesh for burial with 7 days of fasting.

God's GATEKEEPERS
1 Chronicles 9
Inspired thots
Every tribe of Israel has been blessed with an inheritance; they dwelt in their allotted land. But there are also SPECIAL important assignments; GATEKEEPERS of God's house. Although one is blessed with personal possessions, one must not forget to serve God.
Hence, v13, VERY ABLE men are required for the "work of the service of the house of God."
v17 GATEKEEPERS are stationed at the king's gate; keepers of thresholds of the tent of meeting of God; keepers of the entrance. Gatekeepers were CHOSEN (v22) and established in their office of trust; they function as guards for the house of the Lord (v23). They are at the East, West, North and South. They were OBLIGED to come in every 7 days (regularly) from time to time to be with the others in service.
They were in charge of guarding God's chambers and treasures; they were responsible for watching and opening God's house every morning.

God Blesses With Multiplication of Generations
1 Chronicles 7-8
Inspired thots
God is faithful in blessing His people. The recording of the genealogy shows His goodness to His people in multiplying them on earth. No Israelite tribe is missing although the recording is erroneous in 7:6-12 which is supposed to the tribe of Zebulun. Praise God for His directed thot on this point which would have been missed if one hurriedly flits through the genealogy.
God is faithful in raising up the RIGHT people from every tribe; In 7:27 Joshua the great warrior of God is established from the tribe of Ephraim while Saul and Jonathan are recorded in 8:33 from the tribe of Benjamin. There is always some individual who can be of Great use to God as God unfolds His plan to mankind.
The same for today as we yield to Him alone! He is the Master planner of the Universe!

A Faithful & Fair God
1 Chronicles 6
Inspired thots
This chapter lists all the Levites who served God as they are called; and they were given pasture lands by God for their livelihood. There is no lack in God when one serves Him wholeheartedly. Truly God is FAITHFUL and Fair to provide and bless.
He supplies all our needs. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

God of Israel & I
2 Chronicles 1 - 5
Inspired thots
Genealogies, genealogies, genealogies! The God of Israel records His people; He is ever WITH them, WATCHING OVER them, HEARING & ANSWERING their cries. He SEES and KNOWS all about His people.
Each tribe of Israel is recorded by name; no one is left out; not even if they did not obey their God. Blessings are freely given to those who obey and revere God; giving Him the glory due His name. Punishments follow those who choose their own way and forsake God who is faithful and loving.
Wars are won because they were of God (5:22).
How WONDERFUL that the God of Israel is now MY God! The same God yesterday, today and forever; He loves; He blesses; He protects; He provides; He supplies ALL my needs as I rest in Him and YIELD to Him. My name would be in HIS book too! Hallelujah!

Matthew 20:17-19
Inspired thots
Jesus keeps reminding His disciples of His death to prepare them during the last moments of His life.
It is true that we need reminders on God's things for we tend to forget easily. God's things are more important than worldly or self things; we need to learn to focus on the more important issues in life.
Do not let worldly or self desires crowd out the things of God. Stay on the narrow track with the Lord and He will see us through.
