Jeremiah 19 & 20
Inspired thots
How discouraging Jeremiah must have felt with the people around him cursing and not hearing the Word of God through him. Yet he pushed on with his calling.
In modern day times, it may be equivalent to the pastor or any full time worker for the Lord where His words are falling on deaf ears. It is hard to be serving the Lord passionately today as it was in Jeremiah's days. However, one truth is noted in this situation.... Jeremiah's warnings from the Lord was not well received by Israel. The same with today, as Jesus mentioned, a prophet is not welcomed in his hometown. "Familiarity breeds contempt".
A daily time out with the Lord Jesus, to hear Him speak to ME. I am asking the Lord to share HIS thoughts with ME, to teach me more about Himself, and how I can be drawn closer to Him... for 'His thoughts are not my thoughts and neither are His ways my ways' Isaiah 55:8,9. This blog is not a theological exegesis. This blog is to record down the INSIGHTS & INSPIRATIONS of God's Word to me; speaking LIFE into my life for Abundant life! :)

Let the Potter Have His Way
Jeremiah 18
Inspired thots
As in Isaiah 64:8, Jeremiah 18:4 speaks about the Potter ~ God the Creator! A reminder of who God is to us; He is the Potter, we are the clay in His hand. It is best to leave Him to mold us as He sees fit.
Just like an ordinary potter who believes in his own skills and insights, God has His plans in shaping each of His children to His glory. We must learn to be flexible in His hands and not want to wiggle out due to impatience and discomfort. We must await the time of our glory in God's hands. Let us not be wise in our own eyes to be what we want to be for we cannot see beyond the horizon.

Comfort in the Midst of Chastisement
Jeremiah 17
Inspired thots
How wonderful is our God who chides but comforts at the same time! How true is HIS word that 'He does not chide all the time'. He is mindful of our frailty; He only wants us to return to Him for blessings.
Hence, the Lord searches the heart and knows its deceitfulness. He searches the mind and tries the heart to check how we would respond to Him. Have mercy, O Lord! Empower us not to fail You.
Help me set YOU on the glorious throne in the place of my sanctuary (v12).
Thank YOU for Your word of healing and restoration. You are MY PRAISE! (v14)

The Powerful Name of God
Jeremiah 16
Inspired thots
There is IMMENSE POWER in the NAME of GOD. The chapter ends with this extreme power in the words 'THE LORD'.
It is the Name of God ~ the LORD ~ that would cause all to fear and tremble. But many still do not get it. Many are still blur about the power of this name; because there is no personal encounter with the owner. Many are still reveling in their own stubbornness, wickedness, self-centredness; hence, they do not recognize the Power of God's name... perhaps until it is too late.
Will we not be wise and learn the power of God? A simple truth with immense power that can be so easily lost when we do not grasp or hold on to it.
I declare the power of God's name in my life to exhibit His glory. God's name ~ the Lord ~ is my strength and my stronghold; my refuge in the day of trouble. v19

Rejection of God Leads to Rejection by God
Jeremiah 15
Inspired thots
When we do not obey the voice of God prompting us to return to Him, we are rejecting Him to be Sovereign in our lives. The time WILL COME when HE WILL REJECT those who reject Him. How merciful is God to wait for our repentance NOW!
History is a good teacher to reveal how man is; how God will respond. God is faithful... v19 "If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me." We must learn to persevere at difficult times until God vindicates us.
Vindicate us quickly, O Lord! Let not the enemy triumph over us! Amen.

Take Heed
Jeremiah 14
Inspired thots
God speaks through His prophets to warn people but there can be false prophets; prophets who speak WHAT people WANT to HEAR. If one aspires to SPEAK for God, be sure it is God prompting.
Prophets are called to speak on behalf of God; to warn people of their wicked ways and to return to God. It is not always blessings and prosperity. God is angry too with His people for their stubbornness and idolatry. He sends prophets to warn them so that they will return to Him to be blessed.
Do we HEED what God says to us through others who warn us?
Or do we want to hear only the good? KEEP THE END IN MIND.

What is Your Lot in Life?
Jeremiah 13
Inspired thots
God chides His people for their unfaithfulness. He knows that they are stubborn and do not want to change. He has prepared specific lots for His people (v25). The stubborn would fall into His wrath at the end of the day while the righteous would enjoy God's blessings.
It is not God's desires to punish His people; His heart grieves for them but their stubbornness causes them suffering. Do not be wise in our own eyes; seek the Lord while He may be found.
