Entering Into A NEW Covenant With GOD

As the NEW YEAR 2012 approaches, today being the last of 2011, the Lord brings me to consider a NEW Covenant with Him as He did the Israelites as they were about to enter the promised land.

Before entering into a NEW COVENANT with the Lord, one must REFLECT on the old and measure its Shortcomings and consider the Changes  in order to ensure Compliance.

In the 'Old' or Past Covenant, the eyes have seen ALL that the Lord has done in the past ~ the great trials, the miraculous signs and great wonders BUT there was no UNDERSTANDING Mind, SEEING Eyes and HEARING Ears. (v4)

Physical was emphasized in the Old covenant but the New covenant emphasized on the Spiritual. Only an obedient and trusting Heart could open our spiritual eyes to the Lord's true self and greatness.

Blessings & Curses of God

Deuteronomy 27 & 28

A life with God is either FULL of Blessings or Curses; this depends on whether you are WALKING WITH GOD or Not! The choices are Explicit; the Blessings are plentiful and bountiful BUT the Curses... they are bountiful to the extreme that you would not want to be part of it.

The curses in chapter 29 gives the notion of a domino effect... more and more worse things to heap upon those who are disobedient to God. It is indeed scary; better to be in God's favor by walking right with Him and obeying HIM. 

Reciprocal Declarations

A couple of insights here...
25: Honesty is the Best policy with the Lord anytime. The Lord wants His people to act fairly and honestly in all situations to all people.

26:v10 Bringing the firstfruits for the Lord. As we declare God to be our God, God will also declare us to be His people and set us in praise, fame and honor.

Wholesome Living with God

Deuteronomy 20-23

Inspired thots

God reminds His people to walk rightly before Him in the land He is giving them; their attitude, behavior, thoughts and actions; even speech, are very important to Him reflecting His holiness and righteousness.

To another brother: DO NOT IGNORE the good that can be done unto the brother.

To the Self: PURGE the EVIL within and among.

The Lord is able to TURN CURSES into BLESSINGS for those who obey Him and walk rightly in His ways.
These are good instructions to follow as the old year turns into the New year!

Purge the Evil...

Deuteronomy 19

As we live our lives, we must learn to identify the evil within us and Purge it! Evil has no place in God's presence; as His people, His Levites, we should not allow evil to reside in us. Hence, the Lord is very strict about justice: life for life; eye for eye; tooth for tooth; hand for hand; foot for foot.

The Lord is very fair in His ways; for everybody.

The LORD is our Inheritance ... as 'Levites'

Deuteronomy 18

v2 (the Levites) have no inheritance among their brothers; Every tribe of Israel had an inheritance of the new land...except for the Levites. They were to serve the Lord all the days of their lives. The LORD is their inheritance.

How Awesome! 
"THE LORD IS THEIR INHERITANCE" ~ what does that mean?

I think that THAT would make the greatest inheritance of all for anyone!
Imagine having the LORD as an inheritance; what God is, I am! what God has, I have! all His virtues... His greatness; His assets!

Everyone sacrifices to the Lord; there will be no lack in materialism although that is not the main issue. Do not desire the EARTHLY inheritance for these do not last. Desire the eternal inheritance. Hence, my role is to be a Levite... worship and serve the Lord my God wholeheartedly. A simple lesson.

Thank you Lord!

Purpose of Existence

Deut 15 - 17

Moses continued to give the Lord's instructions to the Israelites; at first it was all the DOs on sacrifices; then it was all the DONTs on behavior.

The Conclusion to me is: there is a Purpose for man's existence ~ to live to the glory of God. Live in the way that pleases HIM! Follow His commands, Revere Him and be Humble for the Lord will bless.

17:19 ~ ... he is to read it (God's word) all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees...

Children of the Lord

Deut 13 & 14

As God's children, obedience is necessary; it is God's command to "love Him with all your heart and with all your soul".  Learn to revere the Lord your God always. It is a good reminder at this Christmas season... for Christ came to earth in babe form showing His love.

What can I give Him this Christmas when all He ever does is to Bless me? The best present to anyone is what pleases the recipient.

In this Christmas season, the best present to Christ is to Exalt Him through obedience, humility and love. 

With God... Blessing upon Blessing through Obedience

Deuteronomy 9 & 10

As Moses recounted the events for the new generation of Israel, it showed how Great God is to them; yet, it is no wonder that Israel can forget God's greatness so easily to revert to their sinful ways. It is the attitude of the heart; they do not really know God intimately to fear Him or walk in His ways like Moses.

Hence, it is just following Moses' instructions about God; there is no personal relationship between Israel and God except for Moses.

10v12 And now O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God , to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 
and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good

The Lord wants a personal and intimate relationship with Israel but they did not attempt it on an individual basis. They did not personalize it. 

Covenant of Love

How amazing that it is the COVENANT of LOVE that God operates through to His people. All that He does is based on His great love for His people. He only wants to Bless. His seemingly many and harsh instructions are meant to bless His people and keep them in His love.

He is a Holy God! He must have His people holy to fellowship with Him and honor Him with their holiness as He is holy. We tend to miss that as we are led astray by the attractions of the world.

Be Careful...to Heed

Deuteronomy 6

A very awesome and inspiring chapter. The focus is on God. It is all about God.

THREE times the phrase came on... "Be careful to..."

1) v3 Be careful to OBEY .. so that it may go well with you and you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey as the Lord promised.

2) v12 Be careful you do NOT Forget the Lord who brought you out of slavery

3) v25 Be careful to OBEY all the Lord's law that will be our righteousness.

And His laws are... The Lord is ONE.

Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. V6

Fear Him and serve Him only. Do what is right and good in the Lord's sight.

God is so good... He supplies the best without any effort from us. He only plans to prosper His children.

Be Inclined Towards God Alone

The TEN Commandments were repeated by Moses to the Israelites before they enter the Promised Land. It was necessary because this group would be the younger generation grown up. They may not have been particularly diligent when the actual ten commandments were given during their younger days.

It is strange to me that they should CHOOSE NOT to hear God personally; they prefer a spokesman. Why? Did they fear God so much to think that He will zap them? Already they acknowledge that they CAN HEAR GOD AND LIVE! God is a gracious God... wanting to bless and to fellowship with His people. The people fear death in hearing the voice of God. They did not understand God enough. They began to KNOW a LITTLE about Him but they did not KNOW or WANT to know Him more personally. How sad!

God's heart aches... v29 "OH! that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always so that it might go well with them and their children forever!" 
God's request of His people is SO simple...We miss the boat..

Your Move...

Deut. 4

Here Moses summarized the happenings of the Israelites before he died. His final instructions were to have the Israelites do THEIR part as God has already done HIS part. It is up to the Israelites to continue in God's ways by HEARING, FOLLOWING, OBSERVING and ACKNOWLEDGING God's ways and words.

The Israelites are to WATCH Themselves very closely  and take to HEART that there is no other god like their God.

It is important to REMEMBER what God has done for you and keep His commands for blessings.

WHO is LIKE the Lord Almighty?

Deuteronomy 1 - 3

These chapters repeated all that happened in Numbers. They recall all the events of the Israelites but they record also the WAY of men ~ their stubbornness, sin, regrets, disobedience, failures, complaints; how they sinned against God and how He punished them. 

But through it all, God was WITH them and BLESSED them. He is a Faithful God. It is safer to be on HIS good side of Grace and Mercy than his bad side of wrath and punishment.

The Lord Dwells With His People

The END has come; end of Numbers and end of wandering for the Israelites.

God has shown Himself SO FAITHFUL to the Israelites in EVERY WAY.  He provided for ALL their Needs and Wants; He gave them Answers; He showed directions and instructions; He gave Inheritance to every tribe; none was left out in any way. He cared for each of His people.

Blessings Follow Whole-hearted Obedience

Numbers 32-34

When Caleb and Joshua obeyed God WHOLEHEARTEDLY, they were blessed to enter the promised land. Even Moses missed the boat because he lost his patience and faith to honor God's holiness.

God is great and fair to provide for His people appropriately. The bigger tribe had a bigger inheritance; the smaller tribe has a smaller inheritance.

Indeed, with God... all things work for good to those who love Him. (Rom 8:28)
And God gives only the best no matter how meager it seems to us.

None Would Be Lost... with God

Numbers 30 - 31

Inspired thots

When the Lord is on your side, none would be missing. He ensures total safety over those who are under His charge. (31:49)

When the Lord calls for service, He supplies every need. He guides every step to be taken. He does not leave nor forsake.

Pleasing to the Lord

Numbers 27 - 29

There are SO many types of offering that one can offer to the Lord that are pleasing to Him. These are spelled out so clearly for one to follow.
The FREQUENT offerings are meant to get God's people to be frequently or constantly praising and worshiping Him.

Chp 28 ~ a DAILY Offering : regularly offering to please Him.
~ Sabbath Offering: every Sabbath
~ Monthly Offering: On the 1st day of the month
~ Special feasts: Passover, Feast of Weeks, Feast of Trumpets, Feast of Tabernacles.

In EVERYTHING, EVERY DAY... offer a PLEASING OFFERING to God.

Honoring God's Holiness

Numbers 25 & 26

A great revelation hit me today.... the TRUTH finally SANK in deep.

God's holiness is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to Him; it is His HONOR!


God's Holiness is HIS Honor... hence, all that He did and will do will be to guard His honor ~ His holiness. He CANNOT betray Himself for that is what He is like. WOW! Awesome!

Hence, FORGIVE us Lord that we have dishonored You. We have not been serious in maintaining YOUR Honor which is YOUR HOLINESS. We have belittled it so badly, Lord! Forgive, Lord, forgive!!!!

We truly DO NOT DESERVE Your Grace and Mercy; as we repent, turn Your anger from us, Lord, for we are foolish people.

Eyes that See and Ears that Hear... God!

Numbers 24

Inspired thots

Balaam finally came to his senses and submitted to GOD's will and ways. He finally acted rightly as a servant of God and stood on God's side rather than at the enemy's camp.
He was blessed with'eyes to see  God CLEARLY' and "ears to hear God's Words"; only when he submitted to God fully, he could proclaim the right oracles.

v13... I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the the Lord - and I must say only what the Lord says.


God is in FULL control; Take FULL understanding of it and Get on His side ALWAYS!

The World's Approach

Numbers 23

Balak, king of Moab, ASKED Balaam, a prophet of God to help him against Israel.  It is SO illogical to have a non-believer asking a believer to curse another believer. But that is how man is;

The world's approach is the SELF ~ ME over Others! Balak could not take 'No' for an answer although God's response through Balaam remains the same: Blessings for Israel. THREE times Balak tried to coerce Balaam to curse Israel. How foolish!

Oftentimes today, we are foolish like Balak too... we only want God to bless us as we desire; not as how God desires. We have really 'missed the boat'.

Obedience with a Pure Heart

Numbers 21 & 22

Inspired Thots


1) Chp 21 ~ the Israelites had success in their wars against the enemies along the way as they followed God's instructions. The Lord provided for their every need... water, safety, victory... etc. They went about conquering although they were humbled not to disturb the land's inhabitants as they requested for safe passage through.

2) Chp 22 ~ Balaam could hear from God yet he was enticed by rewards offered by Balak. Although  he HEARD from God Not to go to Balak, Balaam was stirred in his heart over the riches and delayed Balak's men for the night on the pretense of 'seeking' more of God. 

Hence, God's anger was stirred that Balaam was lured by the offer of riches.


God can see the real contents of the heart which no one can although outwardly one may say and do the 'right' things.

God's Holiness is Imperative

Numbers 19 & 20

God instructed the Israelites on so many offerings in order that they may be ceremonially clean ~ i.e. holy ... for He is a HOLY God.

Hence, when the Israelites complained to Moses and Aaron about having no water to drink, it must have been the straw that broke the camel's back... Being humans, they could not endure the constant incessant grumbles of the Israelites; even most gentle Moses fell in his endurance.


Moses acted in anger against the complaining Israelites; however, it was a display of distrust in God. God instructed him to SPEAK to the rock for water but he struck the rock twice. Was striking the rock striking back at God? One must really learn to listen to God AND OBEY if hear correctly.

Holiness is VERY important to God....
> Trusting God is one thing... trusting God ENOUGH to HONOR Him as HOLY in the sight of others is Crucial.

Being in God's Favor

Numbers 17 & 18

Inspired thots

Though there was opposition to Aaron as priest, God proves His choice through signs and wonders. Dont know why the Israelites seem so bent on being forgetful or contentious. They envy Aaron and Moses but yet dare not approach God inspite of all that they have seen and experienced of his greatness.

It is indeed a privilege to be in God's favor as He provides the best! He gave the Levites the best and only asks for a portion as a presentation to God for His provision.

God does not demand much from us although He gives the Best to us.

God Makes No Distinction

Numbers 15 & 16

Inspired thots

God is SO good! He does not differentiate anyone who wants to draw near to Him. He allows the same offering and accepts it when it comes with a sincere heart.

God is merciful to those who sin against Him unitentionally. May God remember His mercy upon man who can forget His goodness and holiness so fast.

However, when we despise the Lord and sin defiantly, blaspheme against the Lord and break His commandments intentionally, God will act against us.

Learn from Moses who was always humble, forebearing and interceded for the people even when they rose up against him.

When we hold anything against anyone, we hold it against the Lord. It is important to remain holy and righteous to stand 'between the living and the dead' (v48)

Different Spirits Bring About Different Consequences

Numbers 14

There is so much to glean from this chapter.

1) The people lost heart easily on hearing some frightening news about the new land they are to enter. They had a Fearful spirit. (v2). A fearful spirit is dangerous for it leads to complaints and murmurs. It brings about curses on one's self with "What -if"s. And the consequence is bad... for complaints and murmurs arising from fear reflects DISBELIEF in God and His power to save, protect and bless. Hence, God brings on the curses the people impose on themselves. (28,29)

2) Caleb had a different spirit...(6,7). He and Joshua BELIEVED God will empower them to overcome the enemy. They viewed the situation differently. They were excited at the positive aspects of the situation instead of focusing on the negative. With that the Lord promised to bless Caleb by bringing him into the land and let Caleb's descendants inherit it (24)

3) Moses had a humble and interceding spirit. He bore patiently with the complaints of his people. He even interceded for God to spare their lives. He holds no grudges against those who bear grudges against him. It is the SELF how life is lived. What others choose does not matter nor can it impact the peace in our own lives.

Better to be consistent and trusting the Lord at ALL times than to change according to the situation. The Lord is our shepherd. He will lead and guide; He will protect and provide. Wait for His timing and direction... success follows. Not when we choose our own ways.

We ARE What We See OURSELVES

Numbers 13

Moses sent 12 men from the tribes to spy out the Land they are entering into. There are always TWO sides to the coin/report. Caleb was excited and confident about conquering the land; the others were hesitant and scared.

They only saw themselves SMALL like grasshoppers (v33)... hence, wysiwyg: ~ what you see (of yourself) is what you get! No wonder, others will see what you portray yourself to them. That is the battle lost before it got started.

The Israelites FORGOT that it is God who is with them and will lead them. It is HE who has promised the Land of milk and honey for them. Man forgets easily.

Reverence For God's Servants

Numbers 11

God is the One in control of everything... He appoints and works through His chosen. Man tends to want glory and fame for self. Hence, Miriam and Aaron were jealous of Moses' 'success' with God. But it is not for man to decide who God will be personal with. God looks at the heart and choose who to commune with. That is intimacy with God.

One must respect whom God has chosen; for all plans work in God's timing and will. No disrespect should be made against His servants. Truly God sees man and things Very differently from man.

If I really trust in Him, I will submit to His will in totality.

Sufficiency with God

Numbers 10 & 11

Inspired thots

With the Lord around, there is no need of any care in living; the Lord takes care of everything... and that means EVERYTHING.

There is a proper order of activities; God hears the needs and complaints of His people and provided according to their hearts' desires. He is so good. When His servant is tired, He appoints extra helps to ease the load.  He does not chide when there is a humble attitude.

He speaks to Moses face-to-face like a friend to a friend; Moses was able to be himself with God.
But God feels too.. He gets angry with His unappreciative people too... we really reflect God in our ways; however, we must channel it all correctly to His glory!

It's All About God!

Numbers 10 & 11

There was order in the camp where God dwelt in their midst. All the tribes set off on their journey in the order God has designated for them. However, people can become bored very quickly. They tend to reminisce and yearn for the 'good old past'. But one must remember to be forward looking... after using each day well that it was fruitful.

God knows the 'burdens' each carries... He will provide helpers. He anoints those who consecrate themselves to serve Him. He fills them with His Holy Spirit and they prophesy. But man is tended to jealousy and self centredness... as depicted by young Joshua. But it is never about 'US'... it is about HIM ~ Almighty God in everything.

It is wise to remember that.

Obeying God's Command

Numbers 9

Inspired thots

The Lord was with the Israelites all the way from out of Egypt into the promised land. He never left them at all times. The Lord COMMANDED and the Israelites OBEYED in moving out or encamping. What a privilege!

If only I can hear the Lord so well....

Set Apart, Purified & Served

Numbers 8

Inspired thots

From verses 14 & 15, God will choose His people to serve Him as He dwells in their presence.

The Levites were chosen from the other tribes, set apart to be purified before they served God in the Tent of Meeting ~ His holy dwelling; from ages 25 to 50. God gives rest to those reaching the golden jubilee.but these can till assist the younger ones like 'spiritual fathers' .

It is important to have succession planning so that there will always be people serving God.

Each must BE READY to do the WORK of GOD... be willing to be set apart, purified and serve God as He calls.

Teach me to hear You Lord...

A Daily Offering to God

Numbers 5-7

Inspired thots

God gave specific instructions for the Israelites to keep themselves holy before Him and live in peace with each other. We must keep holy to stand before the Lord's presence for He is holy.

Everyday there is a leader representing the people giving offerings to God. It is a daily offering as God dwells in their midst. And God spoke audibly to Moses at the Tent of the Meeting from the ark of the covenant.

A Specific Task for Everyone in the Lord

Numbers 3 & 4

Inspired thots

Just as the Lord has a specific place for everyone of His people, He also has a SPECIFIC TASK for each one.

Everyone was appointed a task to execute in honour of God; however, God is Holy and must be revered.

Even in carrying the appointed tasks, one must perform with reverence and honour. The task cannot be taken lightly.

Those between thirty and fifty were called to serve in the Tent of Meeting... the most holy place where God's glory is. What a privilege!

God of Order

Numbers 1 & 2

Inspired  thots

God is a God of order. There is never a need to worry about matters when one stays under His umbrella. He provides all the necessary guidance and instructions to the 'T'.

Our God is concerned about every aspect of our lives. If only we'd let Him take charge instead of planning it ourselves! He KNOWS BEST!

He knows all the Tribes of Israel by name; He knows each of us so well by name... and everything else. He has placed each of us in the best spot around His glory just as He placed the Israelites around the Tent of Meeting. All tribes were able to soak in His presence and see His glory face to face; there was no 'blockage' from any tribe. All were treated fairly.

God is SO Good to His people. He Loves, He cares, He provides, He guides.

All Belongs To God

Leviticus 27

Everything belongs to God.... as God sets the tithing and redeeming procedures;  And He is only asking a bit back of what He provides; so that His people will not take it for granted His provision and they will not forget He is their provider.


All things are of the Lord's; there is nothing on earth that is man's.

Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the Lord's; and everything in it"
including me.... AMEN!

Blessed Life With the Lord

Leviticus 26

Inspired thots

Life can be SO Simple and a Blast when living in obedience to God's commands; O how often we forsake the joys and blessings because we choose otherwise. What is wrong with us? our hearing?

He only gives His people the BEST!

Please Lord teach me to listen to Your voice. I want to enjoy the Blessed life with You. Nothing on earth really matters in the end. Have mercy O Lord upon Your people.

The Lord is Fair & Good

Leviticus 25

The Lord gives so many exact instructions but on careful look, they are all fair to EVERY party involved. The Lord means to Bless; perhaps He knows that man will take advantage of one another.

He has everything well planned for our needs. There is no need to worry about what we would wear and do.... God arranges all things well.

Staying On Course

Leviticus 23 & 24

Inspired thots

There were so many procedures and feasts set by the Lord for the Israelites to perform regularly. Why?
Because man tends to Forget! When we Do, we Remember. As the saying goes, "Out of sight, out of mind".
Hence, the many procedures so that man will recall what great deeds God has done for His people; they cant see Him... they may act like 'an ostrich in the sand'.

Now it is the HEART that must listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
It is the RENEWAL of the MIND through the Reading of God's Word. Jesus gave us a better way today.... will we be better off?

To Draw Near to God

Leviticus 21 & 22

Inspired thots

His Word says..."I must be ACKNOWLEDGED as holy by Israel" because God is holy. When one acknowledges, one is committed.

This is the resounding truth and fact in Leviticus; so many 'rules', 'laws', 'regulations', 'stringent procedures' and 'commands'. This is to emphasize God's Holiness. There must be a new awakening to this fact which is God's virtue.

This is the way to draw near to Him. 

Resounding Thot of God's Holiness

Leviticus 19 & 20

Inspired thots

The resounding message is to 'CONSECRATE Self for the Lord' for He is Holy.

All that God instructs is to cause His people to dwell in His blessings wherever He has placed them.
It is important to keep His decrees and follow them; through them, one is made holy as He is holy.

There is not enough emphasis on God's holiness that He keeps repeating it; God wants His people to draw near to Him and the only way is through being holy. I dont think we have grasped quite fully how holy God is.

A Resounding Fact

Leviticus19

"I am the Lord your God"
~ in all the commandments God gave to His people, the resounding fact is Truth.
He is the Lord. He is God. He is our God.

In all that we do, the bottom line is to give God the glory and honor. What we do and how we go about it can impact God's honor.

~ Honor is a reflection of Holiness.

Again, the same theme 'Be Holy as I am Holy' comes on in v1 as in 11:44,45

The Land is Defiled

Leviticus 18

Our land is defiled according to the Word of God; there are detestable and dishonorable acts among its inhabitants. Wickedness abounds when people choose to have their own ways in sexual relations. God's Word says 'the land will vomit them out'.

More intercessions for our beloved land...

Forgive us, Lord! Have Mercy.

God Dwells in the Midst of His People

Leviticus 15 - 17

Inspired thots

How awesome to have God in our midst! But man tends to take Him for granted as He is Spirit; man lives and believes through Sight more than Faith and Belief. Hence, we forget very fast.

Perhaps that is why God has so many procedures for them; so that they can do and remember; so that they can be occupied and not be idle. When they are idle, their minds and hearts tend to stray. But sadly, over time, man's heart becomes dull too. Sigh! What a pitiful condition for man.

Ceremonially Clean

Leviticus 12 - 14

Inspired thots

God deals with His people rightly in every way; He has everything ready for them. The priest is to handle all matters... yet God sustains him and protects him from the infectious diseases and dangers. God is good.

God repeats every step so that His ways will be remembered and followed. Only man is callous to stray.

God is Holy... hence, His people must be cleansed continuously. Praise God for Jesus that His precious blood cleansed us all once and for all. We can be clean in the sight of God for we are forgiven. God sustains and protects then and now.

Be Holy As HE is Holy

Leviticus 9 - 11

Inspired thots

God gave the Israelites many types of offering to purify themselves as He is holy. That is the main theme ringing across these chapters.

Thank God that He only requires one thing of us today... Jesus. All is made clean through His Only Son, Jesus.

It keeps ringing even in 1 Peter 1:16 "Be Holy because I am Holy" (Lev 11:44,45)

So Elaborate in His Ways

Leviticus 6-8

God is very elaborate in His ways; so much details that it seems hard to remember but when it is His will, He will empower us to remember and to do.

After all, that is what a relationship is all about! Time and Effort to be put in rightly to establish, build and nurture the relationship.

Atonement

Leviticus 3- 5

God is Holy... Sin must be atoned for; one may sin knowingly and UNknowingly but God prepares the atonement to clear the sin on man. He is so good and caring. Who is like Him? so detailed and specific.

When one is aware of his sins, there must be an immediate response to atonement as instructed.

The Lord Accepts All Kinds of Offering

Leviticus 1 & 2

The Lord knows what each has and can offer. He accepts whatever offering is brought to Him with a sincere heart. He does not chide on the small offering if that is all is available.

> An aroma that is pleasing to the Lord is one that is TOTALLY sacrificed ~ as in fire! A total Commitment!
~ an offering made by fire...
~ an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

All that is within which is unpleasing to God must be burned as one offers the self totally to God.

Small offerings like grain is acceptable to the Lord. Season it with SALT when it is to be offered to God.
Lev. 2:13
~ Season all your grain offerings with salt
~ Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offering.
~ Add salt to all your offerings.

The Lord Goes Before His People

Exodus 37 - 40

God is so personal. He is always with His people. He gives exact instructions and when His people hear and obey, there is protection and blessing.

It is so simple to live life if we were just completely obedient to the Lord!

He gives the exact instructions when needed.

Skilled to be Willing to Serve God

Exodus 35 & 36

1) The Lord is concerned about the Sabbath. It is instituted to be a HOLY day unto Him; for His people to rest and enjoy His presence; to worship Him; to meet up with Him.

2) Being WILLING is important in God 's sight; when one is willing, one will hear and obey. This will motivate the one to do what God has planned. Thus, God seeks those who are willing to serve Him.

3) God equips those who will serve Him. He anoints them with SKILLS and His Holy Spirit to do the works He has prepared. The important thing is to hear what God wants us to do with the given skills and anointing.

Being Radiant in the Lord

God cleared the 'knots' in my heart this morning as I released them all to Him. It is in the Daily SOAP - the first of which I will note what God is doing in my life.

There is liberty in my spirit as I am reminded to stay focus on God alone.

As He said to Moses, "Present yourself to me there on top of the mountain" ~ so must I. Then, Moses spoke to God face to face ~ and his face shone with radiance which is the glory of God.

Yes, Lord! I want my face and whole being to shine with radiance ~ reflecting the glory of God.
THANK YOU Lord for putting a smile on my face today  and  joy in my heart.

So Much of God

Exodus 33

God is SO awesome; there is SO much to learn of God; SO much to know of God. It is a never ending quest... even as Moses himself found out.Yet, he spoke to God face to face and he spent a lot of time with God.

Truly, God is merciful and gracious. What is man that THOU Mighty God is mindful of? The son of man that Thou careth for him? (Ps 8:4) BUT THANK YOU God that You do!

Humility is Key to God's favor - asking to be taught HIS ways; having God's presence always and receiving His rest.
God's glory is God's goodness; hence, one Must always REMEMBER; when God is good, He is exhibiting His glory.

Idolatry Is An Insult To God

Exodus 32

The CEO is a very busy person... he has many things to care for and oversee. But his subordinates may tend to be impatient with him. God is the CEO just like pastor is to the church. There is really so much to do when one is at the top.

Lower ranks tend to feel neglected and sidelined; perhaps feeling lost and not cared for. Hence, their hearts tend to stray to things that will make them feel good. Idolatry sets in and causes them to sin.

No wonder God is so upset with His people; here He is working the best for them; there they are thinking of themselves only and sinning against Him.

How soon we forget all the goodness of God!

Atonement for Anointing

Exodus 30 & 31

God is holy... SO Holy! He must have an atonement before He can anoint.

Atonement leads to Consecration; Consecration leads to Anointing; Anointing leads to Service to the Lord!
And the Great thing about Atonement is ... God Provides it! He supplies my every need according to His riches in Christ Jesus (Phil.4:19) What a Great and Wonderful God!

Yes Lord! Help ME to submit myself to your Anointing through a consecration of my being and atonement through Jesus. Amen.

God is Holy

Exodus 28 & 29

God gave so much details of all that is to be done for His people in preparing them to serve Him because He is a HOLY God.

It is incredible that Moses can remember all the details given to him by God on everything... Really, it must and can only be that God enables.

God is Very Detailed

Exodus 25 - 27

God is very detailed in caring for His people; He instructs them the way to go and  what to do. Truly, there is NO other god that does that. He was ready to dwell with His people. And He provided all that was needed to follow His instructions.

And so it is Very Easy to obey God and live according to His ways. I must be more aware of His instructions and guidance.

Establishing A Relationship

Exodus 23 & 24

God is really Great to His people; He provides for them in every way in detail. His instructions are exact and clear; simple and straightforward. It is a matter of Choice for the people to accept and obey.

This is how a relationship is established. Knowing the other party and accepting the instructions without murmuring and complaining. Spending time with the One who knows best and provides the best. Life can be simple and satisfying.

When one lives to please God, He does not chide or discipline; He accepts His people graciously and loves to spend time with them.

Doing Right in God's Eyes

God is interested in every part of His people's lives. He knows what they need and plans for every facet of their lives. He hears their cries and acts on their behalf.

He is compassionate and thorough in His ways.

One must then watch how we live our life for God is always watching.

Awesone God

God is Awesome! There is no other word to describe these two chapters of how Majestic and Great He is. He has no form but shows His majesty and awe through signs and wonders.

Now, when it thunders and billows, I will think twice about God's presence and working. He uses the physical and natural resources to display Himself; to prove His presence. Thunder, lightning, furnace of fire, volcanic eruptions... it is all God at work.

So awesome until the people did not want God to speak to them personally; here I am wanting God to speak to me.... foolish me!

Acknowledge God in All Circumstances

Exodus 17 & 18

God knows our every need.... there is no need to worry or murmur for He knows all that happens. (Phil 4:6,7); on the other hand, we do not notice God's presence because we are too much of ourselves.

If God is the greatest, then we should...

> Seek God's will

> Learn the decrees and laws

> Share the load with Him and others

Stubborn & Disobedient

Exodus 16

Sigh! Man.... stubborn, disobedient, complaining, coveting, grumbling, self-centered and what not....

Grumbling against anyone is grumbling against the Lord; and He hears it all!

Man is very self-centred; always wanting variety to satisfy the self; feeding the self all the time.
Man does not like to follow instructions; ignoring them to satisfy the self; feeding their curiosity; refusing to submit as per God's instructions.

Sigh! God is SO patient with us. I must learn to live my life humbly before God and be patient even when things do not go my way or when I do not agree with other's ways unless I hear from God personally. Each is accountable to God.

A Majestic God

Exodus 14 & 15

God's people must be Diligent in God at Work and to celebrate His glory and awesomeness.
Indeed, Ex 15:11 proclaims rightly,

" WHO is like You, O Lord? Who is like You?
   - majestic in Holiness, awesome in Glory, Working Wonders"

How sad if we dont see the majesty and awesomeness of God through His wonders.
John 5:17 - God is always at work... so is Jesus!

Ex 14:13,14 says .... do not be afraid. Stand firm and see the deliverance of the Lord for the Lord will fight for you...

How awesome NOT to have to do anything BUT stand still and firm in God for victory! It is like being in the eye of the tornado; chaos everywhere but peace and stability in the midst.

God's GRACE & MERCY

Exodus 13 & 14

The Lord is Faithful to His people; He went with them out of Egypt. When His people come out of their comfort zone, God goes before them. And God knows what His people's weaknesses are. He takes them on the BEST path.... His Grace and Mercy follow... a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
These are  always IN FRONT of His people.

Great is my God! How true today that He is with me all the time... His pillar of cloud (GRACE) by day to guide me through the day's happenings ... and His pillar of fire (MERCY) by night to get me through the night with good rest; even when I toss and turn; mind active and worrying... I do fall asleep. Senseless dreams come but I still have a good rest for the new day ... when God's Grace comes on again....

Hebrews 13:5 ~ "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you"

Be Reminded and REMEMBER! All God's great deeds of glory.... are for His glory to remind His people of His greatness. Man tends to forget!

Foolish Not to Accept God's Grace

Exodus 10 -12

On first reading, it was a bit disconcerting that there should be so many miracles done without the desired results. Are people so ignorant of the truth or callous of heart to acknowledge God's greatness? Is calamity really necessary to get people to come to their senses?

NINE plagues ... and yet, no conviction... until a dear one dies. Isn't that sad? A life has to be lost before one decides to change; how foolish! Why did it take one so long to accept God's grace upon grace?
> Man's heart - that is the main cause. - wanting to reign and be in control.
> Man's mind - forgetting easily
