We can rejoice in the Lord as we wait on Him in quietness and humility. Let us continue to praise Him for He fills our cups according to what we are and His plan.

Man is Full of Anxiety

How many are the worries of man! They are plentiful to  cause anxiety to rise within man all the time. 

Calling out to God for help is one thing; asking Him to take action is another when it is NOT Yet His time! How foolish is man to be ANXIOUS and CALLS God to act. It is BETTER to be Patient and Wait for God to act on our behalf than be filled with anxiety over the enemy and life matters.

Fill the time with PRAISES to God instead! REMEMBER the Goodness of God in one's life than waste time in being anxious; that would rob us of peace, joy and hope! What a waste of time, indeed!

With God, there IS ALWAYS an Answer

Psalm 73

Many righteous may be upset with the prosperity of the wicked and the affluent; their smooth paths in life make the less fortunate look at life unfairly but only God knows their end.

The heart must be stayed on God to avoid the ill-feelings as well as to get the right understanding of life. Seek God for Answers; otherwise, it is wearisome to the soul. Lift up the soul in the presence of God; there is nothing better in life than be found in His house. But when our focus is on others, our hearts melt with discouragement and fear.

How true v25 ~ WHOM have I in heaven but You, O Lord? Let it be that there is nothing upon earth that I desire besides THEE. I will seek thee and find all the answers I need to comfort and strengthen my heart.

Blessing the Authorities

It is the duty of Christians to BLESS the anointed ones of God; whether it is the authorities of the land or the servants of God. It is God who has placed them in their positions to rule and reign; they are on God's service. 

How necessary to PRAY for God's authorities on earth as it reflects His authority in heaven. God who knows all does wondrous things. Submission to His will is best. Offer PRAISES to Him who alone is worthy and works through man!

When in the DEEPEST PIT

The psalmist calls unto God in his times of desperation when all his enemies assail him. His thoughts are constantly on God alone; and he is comforted. He recalls and proclaims the presence and works of God in his life since birth; he ACKNOWLEDGES the great works of God.

He ends with PRAISES to God for His faithfulness and deliverance and gain confidence in God who will rescue when he calls. What confidence one can reap to revive the soul when the thoughts are stayed on God. Indeed it is true that peace flows like a river when one's heart and mind are stayed on God alone regardless of circumstances! God is SO Good and Faithful; He never forsakes His loved ones. Hallelujah!

Crying Out to God for Deliverance

The psalmist was able to cry out to God for deliverance at any time; for he knows that God hears and delivers. He has such a close relationship with his God that he is able to call on God for deliverance. 

A HUMBLE heart will go far with a loving and merciful God. Praises and Thanksgiving will take one to an extra mile. Acknowledging one's poor condition brings on confidence in God.

Rising Above All

How inspiring that the psalm sounded like what Jesus would say on the cross; how would the psalmist know the feelings when he was BEFORE Jesus' time on earth? Amazing inspiration and revelation of God! 

It may be Christmas today but the Word of God reminds me of the END as well as the BEGINNING; Hallelujah! It is complete! It is finished! Children of the living God rise above all to offer Praises to God even with a song and thanksgiving which please Him more than sacrifices (v30,31)

How easy to praise and exalt God when one recalls His great and awesome deeds! He has done much wonders in the earth and in every person's life; those who call on His name is never forsaken. There is great deliverance and provision when God is for His people.

How awesome are His works! He has the victory over our enemies and His enemies. Our enemies are His enemies and He vindicates. Great is the love of our God! ALL are under His subjection. Glory and Power and Dominion belong to Him alone who seats on the throne!

God blesses His people so that the rest of the earth would get to know Him. When His face shines upon His people, others will come to know His saving power. How marvelous is my God who cares for ALL and does not wish any to perish!

Again and again, people of the earth are called to PRAISE God. It is fitting to offer Him praises.

The earth is blessed with an increase through God. It is God who has blessed... let us remember and offer Him thanks and praise!

How WONDERFUL to break out into Praises to God! As the heart, mind, soul and spirit recall the beautiful works of God in one's life; or even just recalling WHO God is; that is sufficient to break out into Praises to Him. The heart is filled with JOY and AWE to God alone for He has done Great things in each one's life.

Yes, how necessary to be soaked in HIS presence and be reminded of His wonderful love for His people.

How important to Praise God in all situations and at all times! He is SO good to all who love Him; who belong to Him. He blesses not only man but the earth to provide for man. It is easy to PRAISE God for His blessings are all around.

Nature will praise Him for His works as He takes care of the earth and fill it with abundance. How great is God alone!All praises due His name!

There are times in one's life when things are very dry; the soul thirsts; the flesh faints; one is overwhelmed in a dry and weary land or condition.

The ONLY Solution ~ LOOK UP to God in the Sanctuary. He is ABOVE All things; His power and glory are shown. His steadfast love is better than life; hence, Praises are Fitting. When Praises and Blessings flow upwards to God with lifted hands, the situation changes.

The soul is feasted and satisfied with the best of nourishment; the soul clings to God at all times while the wicked goes down destroyed. How powerful is Praises to God!

God ALONE is worthy of all attention; for He gives ME ALL His Attention! He alone is my ROCK and Salvation; my fortress; deliverance; honor;

It is often heard that one should not make vows especially if they are difficult to fulfill. So, what Vows could the psalmist make that God would be pleased?

I  believe that the VOWs God accepts gladly are vows of PRAISE to Him!

It is foolish to make vows which one cannot keep; vows have a binding effect. Vows are promises to be kept and fulfilled. They are words spoken to reflect trust and honour.

The only vows to make before God is to Praise Him for there is no one like Him. It is a fitting vow for Him who is my Protector, Provider, Redeemer and Almighty God.

God's Best Plan for Those He LOVES

The psalmist called upon God to deliver him from wicked men who set traps for him.

On hindsight, I look back to how God moved me out of my job; my worldly security; my environment of pride and arrogance. Indeed, God has been working in my life to make me a Better Me! Praise God! Thank you Lord!

Hence, it is not necessary to fret over those who aim to destroy; for God is in control and He shall bear one up. How good to be able to rest in Him and flow in His plan as He has the Best for His loved ones. In return, God only wants PRAISES. He is the Fortress; Victor; Love, Shield; God of hosts. Hallelujah!

God Vindicates the Righteous

The righteous has no fear of the wicked for God will vindicate and sustain His own at all times. God sees all that happens to the sons of man and awaits for His best timing to glorify Himself. Hence, the righteous need not be despaired or distressed for God will bring deliverance at the right time. Though David's enemies are plenty, he trusted God to deliver.

Today, it is better to pray for  the enemies to repent than to curse them. One must learn to love the sinner and pray for their repentance from wicked acts and desires. Have mercy upon the wicked for they know not what they do.

Proper to Offer Praises & Thanksgiving

Regardless of the circumstances, one should be praising God all the time. That attitude would keep the soul at peace and the heart steadfast with no frets as the focus is on God and not self. God will vindicate and deliver the righteous for His name's sake.

How important to sing praises to God all the time; making melody as one recounts His faithfulness and provision in all things. Hallelujah! Truly God is exalted above the heavens.

Enemies may be around us but with God at our side, there is NOTHING to fear. 

It is IN GOD I praise His WORD; for His word is truth and reassuring.

It is IN GOD I TRUST without a fear; for He is in Total control of every situation and my life.

Bitter Betrayal

Poor David! He must have experienced the whole range of fiery darts in his life but nothing would equal that of a personal betrayal. As David mentioned, it is easier to deal with enemy attacks than a betrayal from those whom he befriended and trusted.

Betrayals can break trust and destroy hope creating a deep sense of disappointment. With a betrayal, one would wonder if sweet and good moments in the past were real or mean anything. Doubt sets in. It is treacherous. It is a violation of friendship, trust and shared moments.

How difficult to really know one's heart! Was it really full of vice from the beginning of the 'friendship'? Only God will uphold in this type of trying situation. He will sustain as one trusts in Him alone.

Enjoying the Final Victory

The psalmist never fails to praise God regardless of his situation. He may start off the psalm with a desperate cry for help but always ends up with praises for God and thus, triumphs! Because his God triumphs!

What a reminder that God is on our side and would vindicate us as we continually look to Him alone; just give God the FREEWILL OFFERING of thanksgiving and continue to trust in His faithfulness. He always deliver.

The Wise Seeks God

The ways of God differs greatly from those of men. God calls those who do not seek Him 'fools' for they are in a depraved state of mind not to know the end.God looks from heaven above and sees all things.But God WILL deliver His people, especially Israel whom He loves.

Though the psalmist rebukes the wicked, his final focus is on God which is the right course of action. How important to keep focused on God rather than be distracted by the world or the wicked; for they shall all fade away. Only God remains. Hence, focus to worship Him. Remember His goodness and blessings; Give THANKS! Give PRAISE!

How wonderful if God sees His people like a GREEN OLIVE Tree in His house! Hence, how necessary to PROCLAIM His name forever; for He is good.

Acceptable Sacrifice to God

There is ALWAYS sin in man before God; hence, a HUMBLE heart in acknowledging and confessing sins before God restores our standing with Him. We KNOW the sins we have committed; and even if we do not know, God can reveal if we are humble enough to hear.

Only God can cleanse us of sins to be purer than snow; when restored, the cleansed servant should go about the Lord's work rather than be idle. Singing aloud praises to God after deliverance is note worthy.

Hence, this is the kind of sacrifice which is acceptable to God; humility through a broken and contrite heart; a  broken spirit. God does not despise.

So SIMPLE to Secure God's APPROVAL

God DOES speak; do we hear? Are we too busy with our own thoughts and deeds to hear Him?

God SEES and KNOWS all things even though He may seem silent. But He calls the UPRIGHT to offer a Sacrifice of THANKSGIVING instead of bulls and material things. Everything on earth and in heaven belongs to God; He has no need of any of such but desires only Thanksgiving to Him as an acknowledgement that GOD is working on our behalf.

So Simple to please Him. Indeed, it is NOT the burnt offerings and sacrifices God desires but the FRUIT of the Heart ~ Thanksgiving! Praise! Worship! Proclamation of who God is!

A Call To SELF Evaluate

It is important to REFLECT on Self once in a while to check the status of Faith and Lifestyle. This psalm does that to remind man  he is Not infallible. One cannot abide forever in riches; one will perish like the beasts ~ ruthless and without sense.

The real focus in life must be identified; it does not lie in worldly wisdom or wealth. It lies only in God who has the power to ransom the life. And He did it through Christ Jesus who gave His life to those who would call on His name. Thank you Lord for reminding me of what You have done on the cross of Calvary.

Knowing God Well to TELL the Next Generation

How majestic is my God that I should KNOW Him well. How different the reactions and responses of people who know and do not know God. The latter panic and is in fear; His awesome deeds overwhelm them; the former is filled with joy and wonder as they witness His mighty works! They offer praise!

As one gets to know God deeper, it is important to tell it to the NEXT generation. They need to be grounded in the KNOWLEDGE of God. The young needs to establish God in their hearts and life forever!

How GREAT is our Almighty God that it is only fitting for us to praise Him. His people rejoice as He subdues the enemy UNDER them, UNDER their feet and have the HERITAGE CHOSE FOR them. When one trusts in God, ALL is WELL. God takes care of all things.

In response, let us SING PRAISES to God, our King for He is King over the nations; over all the earth. He reigns! He is highly exalted!

When tumult is all around, only trust in God sustains. Keeping focused on God is SO important at trying times to keep the soul still and at peace. God is always present; He is in the CENTER of all things ~ in control. Hence, it is best to stay in the EYE of the STORM where there is God; for there is Peace.

God's help comes at the right time; behold His works. He is with those He loves as they take refuge in Him.

How amazing God speaks! I gave the word of the Groom waiting for His bride in church yesterday and today this psalm is about the happy couple! God is indeed humorous and perfect in His timing.

I called on the church to be that spotless bride for our Lord Jesus groom and today the psalm kicks start with Jesus as God's beloved. And He is calling and waiting for His bride; that includes me.

Its all about JESUS; He is the fairest of men; with grace upon His lips and God's blessings bestowed upon Him forever; Great is our God and Jesus our Lord.

The bride is called to desire of the Groom; prepare herself and the Groom will desire her. Then man will also esteem her highly. She shall be blessed.

The RIGHT Perspective in Life

It is possible to have God's people being afflicted with the bad as well as the good. As the saying goes, "the rain falls upon the earth... on the righteous and the wicked." It is a matter of PERSPECTIVE and ATTITUDE.

One can be discouraged and withdraw to defeatist mode or remain FOCUSED and STEADFAST to God; calling on His name for deliverance and mercy. That is the ONLY way to live life in ALL circumstances.

Do NOT Be Continually OPPRESSED

It is important to keep the soul in right spirits instead of being subjected to oppression which can lead to depression. When one keeps looking inward from the adverse circumstances surrounding, depression can set in from fear and discouragement.

How crucial to stir up the soul to set eyes upon God again before it plumbers into the recesses of darkness. Call on God's LIGHT and TRUTH to LEAD the soul out of darkness into JOY. Praise God continually to shake the soul out of disquiet.

Minister to the Soul

The Lord gave a song on v11 to encourage the soul which needs to be ministered when it is 'wounded' by the jeers and reproaches of men in life. There is a need to minister to the soul which gets discouraged easily when attacked by hurtful words.

The soul gets distracted from God's encompassing love and grace; it needs to be reminded of God's faithfulness in the past and future although the present seems dark and lonely.

The soul finds it hard to rise up in such circumstances unless it is re-focus on God and PRAISE HIM.
Then, one can say,"It is WELL with my SOUL."

Hanging onto God

When all seems bleak and lost to me, I can and should hang on to God just like king David. No matter how trying times may be, there is comfort in my God who cares and protects. He alone delivers in all situations; nothing is too difficult for Him.

Enemies may assail from every side; close friends may lift their heels against me but the Lord is for me. I shall be kept safe. Healing comes; so does deliverance. There is hope only in God. I must learn to praise Him all the time.

King David showed how personal he is with his God; he is able to express himself openly to his God without reservation. There is praise; there is recollection; there is declaration; fear, confession and pleas also abound as he recalls the going-ons in his life. King David is not fearful to express how he feels to God; he declares aloud what he remembers so that he does not forget. How important NOT to forget what God has done for one in life.

Expressing to God what is happening in our lives brings us to focus more clearly on God.

The TONGUE may be small but very powerful in its Effects which can be BLESSINGS to Build Up or CURSES to Tear Down.It is not easy to hold back the tongue; for it is man's nature to justify self.

The ONLY approach which is Right in loosing the tongue in trying moments is to release it to the Lord! Stay focused on God and express all of Self to Him alone who will vindicate.

It is crucial to keep the mind stayed on God regardless the situation. In any tight or difficult situation, it is likely that one can be like a deaf and dumb man; not hearing and not speaking. The situation can be overwhelming.and sin comes easily.

But the mind on God will keep the heart in tune; repentance is forthcoming. Calling out to God is a must from a mind focused on God. He will deliver.

Wisdom IS Staying with God at all times

It is only KNOWLEDGE with EXPERIENCE that will keep us steadfast on God. Once we have tasted the goodness of God, we should be steadfast on Him; knowing that He delivers in His own time.

The psalm gives so many ways to Trust in the Lord and Wait on Him in all situations; the wicked will not succeed against God's righteous. The ways of the wicked will perish but the righteous shall be delivered by the Lord!

The LORD Cares & Loves

The wicked dwells with the righteous; the righteous will enjoy the steadfast love of the Lord to sustain them through until He comes again for them. How wonderful is our God!He supplies all the needs of the righteous. The fountain of LIFE is with God; He is the Giver and Sustainer of Life.

How awesome is God's word; only in HIS Light do we see light (v9); so revelationary! Without God, there is no light and man is blinded. There MUST be an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of God in our lives to know Him better.

Strength in the Lord

The Lord will deliver His people who cry to Him for help and deliverance.Our lives are in His hand; we do not need to worry about anything.

The Lord reminded me of how the situation was for me at work when enemies assail me. But forgiveness is necessary for my assailants. I forgive those colleagues who witness maliciously against me; I bless them in Jesus' name. May they come to know God personally and  more and more by His grace.

The Lord has His good plan in mind; all things work for good to those who love Him (Rom. 8:28). I find strength in the Lord; He leads me to paths of righteousness which bring me peace, life and joy. Nothing surpasses that from the world.! Hallelujah!

The Lord is for those Who Trust in Him

It is only fitting to PRAISE God at all times even though it may be difficult. As we seek Him, He answers and delivers. Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. (v10b)

It is normal to desire life and covet many days to enjoy good; the only way to achieve that is to trust in the Lord and walk in His ways. The Lord keeps those who take refuge in Him.

Praise the God Who Delivers

Praise is crucial in one's lifestyle; it is the effect of remembering what God has done. It is an act of appreciation and thanksgiving. There are so many things to thank God; thus, it should be easy to praise Him. Not praising God tantamount to a callous heart; ungrateful and self-centered.

God's word is counsel; it brings things to pass. God's eye is on those who hope in Him; He will deliver those who are in trouble.

Hence, wait on the Lord for deliverance for He is our Help and Shield.

Confession Brings on Protection

The Lord ALWAYS wants to BLESS His people; those who are upright before Him will have no problem keeping His ways. Those who sin against Him need to CONFESS to have their transgression is forgiven and sin covered. Truly God's anger is only for a moment but His favor a lifetime (Ps 30:5)

When one confesses the sin, deliverance comes with protection from the Lord. He gives counsel to His loved ones with His eye upon them. 

Godly prayers without sin would be heard by God with deliverance and protection. Times of distress will not have rushing waters assailing the upright.

Fully Focused on God

Good times and bad times will come; how does one keep faith in God? By being FULLY FOCUSED on God alone! There is no other way as only God reigns supreme and is in control.

One may experience all sorts of trouble and difficulties; only God will deliver at the right time. Hence, it is important to be faithful to God. Learn to rest in Him and let His peace come into the heart. TRUST in God is important to secure the peace. Recalling God's faithfulness in times past helps to strengthen the Trust while keeping the Focus on God.

As the song goes, 'Turn your eyes upon Jesus; look full in His wonderful face; and the things of the earth will grow strangely dim... in the light of His glory and grace'. Only God is able!

The God Who Delivers

Psalm 30

God will deliver His people who are faithful to Him as they cry for His help. Keep praising Him and trust His goodness for 'His anger is but for a moment and his favor is for a lifetime' (v5).

The afflicted can make supplication to the Lord for deliverance; and He will; in His own time which is perfect. A building up of the faith is necessary. God will turn our mourning into dancing and gird us with gladness. Hence, let our soul not be silent but praise Him.

The VOICE of God

The Voice of God has power; He SPEAKS and it comes to pass. How sad that many do not hear His voice. Ps 19 ~ He speaks through Nature.

v3 the Voice of the Lord is upon the waters 
(the seas roar and rage ~ storms and tsunamis)

v4 the Voice of the Lord is Powerful,
     the Voice of the Lord is full of Majesty

v5 the Voice of the Lord breaks the cedars
(the thick trees tumble)

v7 the Voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire
(thunder and lightning proclaim His anger and presence and works)

God sits enthroned; perhaps people through calamities would look up and see God in His glory to give Him reverence.

PRAISE after Prayer

Constantly besieged by enemies, king David has no choice but to cry out to the Lord for deliverance. He made known his condition and feelings to his God. He turned his enemies' curses back to themselves. He sought God's grace and compassion upon him.

After praying to God for deliverance, king David PRAISES God for who He is! He declares God's might and glory as if he HAS BEEN Delivered! His heart trusts; he DECLARES he is helped; his heart exults. King David sang a song of THANKSGIVING of belief through faith that God has delivered him from his enemies.

King David had undergone many challenges in life; he experienced all types of feelings in different life situations but yet, at the end of each situation, he never failed to declare his faith in God alone. His confidence in God is so amazing!

He reminds himself of God's virtues; faithfulness, might, love and goodness. There is truly no one who will stand by you in all situations except the Lord.

It is befitting to DECLARE WHO God is and WHAT He has done to remind ourselves and boost our faith to be as big as the mustard seed.

Consistency in Faith

How great to be able to call upon a God who is always there for me! When one walks rightly before the Lord, one is full of hope and assurance that God is by our side. It is possible to call on Him for deliverance based on our relationship with Him.

He is faithful to those who are faithful; and one will see His works in our life.

How important to stay in God's presence to be protected and assured. Winds of turmoil may blow around us but in God's presence, we who trust in Him are hidden in His safety net. This is only when we know our God and we are walking in His ways.

How important it is to INVITE the King of Glory into our life. He is ABOVE ALL things; the whole earth belongs to Him. The wise will heed this psalm to revere the King of Glory ~ our God Almighty; for there is NONE like Him! Hallelujah!

How assuring and wonderful that it IS POSSIBLE to ascend the hill of the Lord! There is a way to enter into His presence but He is a Holy God and one must walk in HIS ways to be able to stand in HIS Presence.

God is good! He always provides the way to Him who satisfies. Hallelujah!

Jehovah Jireh ~ He provides for all my needs and wants;
Jehovah Shalom ~ He gives peace in the midst of tranquility 
Jehovah Rafa ~ He heals and restores the soul
Jehovah Tsidkenu ~ He leads into paths of Righteousness
Jehovah Shammah ~ He is always there with me
Jehovah Nissi ~ He is my banner of glory & victory over the enemies
Jehovah Makkadesh ~ He sanctifies with the anointing oil

God is With Those Who Call Upon HIm

Even Jesus cried out in desperation when suffering on the cross; it was hard for Him to endure the pain and humiliation but He TRUSTED God who WILL DELIVER.

The afflicted must continue to praise God while waiting for deliverance and healing. They SHALL eat and be satisfied. (v26) Hence, this is a psalm of Hope.

Our God is a God of HOPE & RESTORATION; I Believe!

My heart aches for my eldest sister who is suffering from acute leg pain. After 3 weeks, the pain has not eased and these two psalms bring comfort to my seeking of God on her situation. Though the 'WHY?' is not yet answered, the comfort is on the goodness of God who delivers.

God will help and and give the victory to His righteous and anointed. Trusting in Him steadfastly will see one through. God is so compassionate towards His loved ones. One must keep hiding in the shelter of His name and wings till the bad wind blows over.

The VICTORY WILL COME!

One of the most beautiful psalms to remind one of who God is and how He can be found. It is SO easy to know God... creation is crying out His glory everyday! There is so much nature around for one to ponder over God...

The word of God is available too to discover God; its contents bring life, hope and joy. How can one not want it? Only the wise would desire it for life. 

Nothing else compares to God; hence, the ONLY CHOICE in life is GOD!

Great is king David's confidence in God as he recounts the numerous moments of deliverance by God from his enemies. His confidence in God stemmed from his righteous walk with the Lord. God is always with His righteous who WILL enjoy His protection. It is the enemy who will run away when God delivers His people.

The righteous will CALL upon the Lord for deliverance; they will CRY out to Him for help; they will CHOOSE to remain faithful to the Lord; they will SEE His vengeance on their behalf. How awesome is our God!

King David was so sure of his own righteous position in the Lord; he seemed to know God so well that he could call out to Him like a friend unto a friend. King David was bold in calling on God to confront his enemies and keep him as 'the apple of the eye' with God.

King David was confident in beholding God's face in righteousness; being satisfied with beholding God's form... that is like seeing God! How bold to declare self as righteous! What a sweet intimacy with God to be able to declare such words.

The Lord is so inspiring... waking me up with a song in my heart. With psalm 16, it is a declaration of His goodness and power. The focus is on GOD alone; apart from Him one has no good.

It is important for one to realise that only God is His portion and cup; it is HE who holds our lot with lines fallen in pleasant places. How beautiful and caring is our God! Only giving the best for blessing and protection.

In response, one is to BLESS the LORD who counsels and instructs; how important to KEEP the LORD always before me; He is my right hand who shall not fail me.God protects those who seek Him; they are the godly.

How wonderful that in His presence, there is FULLNESS of joy and pleasures forevermore.

The one who does not acknowledge God is a FOOL; he who acts in his own strength and wisdom that displeases God will suffer want when God judges.

In contrast the holy follows God's ways and laws no matter what the circumstances as he fears God and knows that God is on the lookout for the righteous. His stay is on God for deliverance and protection.

The LORD Hears & WILL Deliver

Although the righteous moan and groan from their suffering, they need to keep their focus on God in their circumstances; for God DOES hear and WILL arise to their aid. God has promised to save the righteous from their circumstances; He will do it in His own time.

David changed his tune from ' I ' (12:2) to 'my enemy' (12:2) to God (12:3). Smart move...
Circumstances may not change according to our desire but our ATTITUDE change will keep us on the right track with God until His perfect time of deliverance. Hallelujah!

A DECLARATION on God

When troubled times are at the doorstep, DECLARE your confidence in God! A declaration on God will remind one of WHO God is and WHAT He has done. Hence, one would not lose confidence in God as one stays FOCUSED on God.

Declarations on God proclaim How GREAT GOD is... Declarations confirm WHO God is and establish His throne in those who declare. The upright shall behold His face and the wicked shall be punished. God is righteous and patient as He tests and turns His people back to Him.

God is NOT on vacation

God has His own time in working and farming out judgments; He is not rash like man who works only for his own gain. Hence, man continues on his wicked ways as he presumes God will not repay the wicked with punishment. Man soon lose sight of God and the fear of God in his heart.

But the sovereign Lord will act ... one day. He will call all to account and nothing shall be hid. 

Deliverance Belongs to God for those who Call

Psalm 9

David, although a king, has woes and troubles. All his worldly riches cannot appease the anxiety within him; he cried out to the Lord for deliverance. He gives thanks to the Lord with his whole heart; he acknowledges the sovereignty of God. Only God is able to deliver his troubled soul. 

David is full of confidence in God; he expressed his deepest fear; the fear of death to God and rejoice in God's deliverance. And God never fails!! Hallelujah! God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is so to me as with David! I live today to Praise Him...Praise God!

PRAISE on the Rise

Psalm 8 & 9

Despite the difficult times faced, David chose PRAISE instead of moaning. He kept his FOCUS on God alone and be reminded on God's glory and faithfulness to those who trust in Him. He offered praise and prayers to LIFT UP his soul instead of focusing on troubling moments.

David did not allow Fear to have any foothold in his life. The more one offers Praise to God, the more one is Established in the presence of the Almighty.

These psalms reflect the troubled soul of David. He cried out to God for there is no one who can truly understand him or is able to deliver him from his anguish. WHO ELSE but God who is our Creator? David was wise in focusing his all to God. Hence, he was able to proclaim his righteousness before God.

David was like Job who suffered not for his wrongdoings; hence, only God can deliver. Morning and night David cried out to the Lord for no one else can ease him of the anguish he felt. David started his psalm with moanings and groanings but he always ends it with praise and confidence in God alone! And the Lord delivers...

A Restless Night CAN Be OVERCOMED

Unpleasant moments tend to come in the night; sickness, pain, sorrow, discomfort.... the night welcomes these. The righteous is disturbed in the night; it is a struggle to get through the night when all is Dark and one seems alone.

YET, GOD is near if one should cry out to Him. The darkest night cannot Hide Him; it is only our thoughts that lead us astray implying that God is not there in our difficult moments. How IMPORTANT to keep our FOCUS on GOD in trying moments.

Self reminders are important to keep one's heart and mind stay on the things and ways of God. He has delivered BEFORE and He WILL deliver AGAIN. One must NOT Forget. God is GOOD to His people; to those whose hearts are steadfast to Him. Recall His goodness and grace to retain His peace which gets one through the night. 

Indeed, only GOD ALONE makes one dwell in safety and carries through the night.

Life is NOT a bed of roses; even roses have prickles which can hurt if wrongly handled. Hence, how important to KEEP FOCUSED on God alone for He is the only one to deliver, protect and provide. God knows all that is going on ... nothing is hid from Him. 

The ball is in our court to respond; strength comes from being steadfast in the Lord with a full assurance through reminder that ONLY GOD is able; Only He is for ME!

Bad News IS GOOD News

No one likes to hear BAD News; for it is unpleasant to the ears and soul. However, some bad news are actually GOOD News in disguise. Just as there are Constructive criticism, some bad news serve as a warning and motivation for repentance and redirection.

Sometimes, we may have wandered off the narrow path; bad news call us back. Psalm 2 may not sound very pleasant but it is a reality with those who strive for personal fame and fortune without God in the picture. How atrocious to even consider "getting God's share"? Man can be quite big-headed about his own capabilities just for fame and fortune. 

We only need to ACKNOWLEDGE who God is and ASK of Him; He is able to make nations our heritage and the ends of the earth our possession. That is our fame and fortune. 

The wise will keep humble to serve the Lord with fear and the Blessed will take refuge in Him.

There are THREE types of people whom we should avoid at all costs:-
a) the WICKED
b) the SINNERS 
c) the MOCKERS

The wicked only gives bad counsel; they TALK a lot ... 'crap' and unsound advice which one should not waste time listening to; the wrong advice stirs up ill & negative feelings.

The sinners are active in their wrong doings; one should not be partakers of their bad actions lest one gets engulfed in them and the reputation be marred.

The mockers gather to make fun of others with the false impression of a 'jolly good time'. However, their contents are rotten and displeasing in God's sight when they disrespect others with their mocking.

The TOTAL man is one who stays focused on God and His word. He is likened to a tree that is at the RIGHT Place at the Right time performing the RIGHT values; the total man will be nourished by the streams to yield fruit in due time. Every part of him (leaf) functions well for there is sufficiency and contentment. No wonder he prospers!

Such a beautiful picture of CONTENTMENT... that is success in life!

The END RESULT of the wicked and sinners is identified; the choice is yours alone to make. The wise will consider eternity. Prov 1:7

You CANNOT Fathom God Fully

God spoke... Job and his friends heard Him; so close was God to them that they could hear what He said. How awesome! They had clear understanding of what God said to them. And all was silenced when God spoke; no one can justify himself before the Almighty who need not account or prove Himself to humans.

No one can fathom God without God opening the mind. We are reduced to mist which is blown away easily. The WISE would SEEK GOD PERSONALLY to hear what GOD has to say concerning any situation instead of seeking counsel elsewhere.

IMPOSSIBLE to contend with God

Job 40 - 41

It is quite impossible to overcome one that is stronger than you. No one subdue a strong man; how much more God who is the maker of heaven and earth.

Who will dare challenge the Almighty God who can do all things and does no wrong? NO one can contend with God or fault Him as it would be the mere man who is with errs. It is even not righteous of one to claim to be righteous before God for our righteousness is like filthy rags.

We will only provoke God to more anger if we try to justify ourselves; we can only plead for His mercy and grace over anything that comes upon us. Our only help is from the Maker Himself.
