Many people are gripped by fear to waste their lives on earth instead of enjoying it to the fullest in God. When a life is yielded to God, blessings flow to wash away the fear of death and judgment. How awesome is Jesus who perfected everything to our good!

We miss out a lot when we turn not our eyes on Jesus but self and the tempest outside. Jesus is our great high priest. Our lives are in Him. Fear not, little children of God!

How wonderful to be living in the New Testament times where the Son of God is revealed! He speaks directly to His own instead of through prophets. This shows an intimate relationship that is desired by Jesus with His people.

It is all about Jesus; the whole gospel is about Jesus; out of which salvation is established. Jesus reflects the glory of God with the nature of God upon Him. He has God's approval and authority.

Angels are only ministering angels sent forth to serve the saints. Hallelujah! God has all things in place to His glory.

Keeping in touch through letters is an excellent faith builder when loved ones are far apart. Much can be said to encourage one another as well as express the deepest desires and feelings that would connect soul and spirit and heart.

This is the case with the appeal for one brother who was lowly in others' sight but is asked to be restored as part of the group or family of God through acceptance. A proven changed of life that blesses others in need qualifies the Christian brother into God's fold and love for God's love is always faithful and steadfast.

What a wonderful God we have who restores and accepts us flaws and all! How much more we ought to do the same for every brother or sister in Christ.

Word of Exhortation

Titus 2 & 3

There is something for every Christian in the past or present. The Christian life is to be upheld in all totality for all regardless of status and gender. Each Christian is called to walk worthy of his/her calling to be a glory to God.

From older men and women to families and slaves or authorities, the Christian is exhorted to live out their faith in public to the glory of God. Only the grace of God can empower us to do so.

Rising Up ABOVE Circumstances

The world does not offer a bed of roses; there would be challenging circumstances that would try our faith in God. The body of Christ is asked to take heed of these challenges as we work to firm up our faith.

If we are not sure of our Godly identity through the Word of God and the Spirit, how can we prevail against the world's accusations and lies? A proper attitude would sow the right actions to glorify God.

Timothy is reminded to be responsible with his calling and charge until Christ comes; no one knows when but consistent Christian faith and responsible lifestyle is expected. Paul and Timothy did not see Christ comes but Paul is confident of his stand in life;

Fight the good fight; finish the Christian faith race; keep the Faith. Let nothing deter us from reaching our heavenly destination to receive the crown of righteousness from the Lord!

Being Prepared For End Times

The time is coming where evil and self righteousness abound to wickedness. Believers would fall away from the truth and the way of God. This is the time to take heed of what is to come and start our preparations to avoid falling off our faith.

May God continue to lead and protect His people to be built up and be courageous in trying times. The enemy is already at work to infiltrate across ranks on people; especially God's people. Be watchful! Pray! Focus on God.

The chapter lists the things a Christian needs to practice constantly to show him/herself as a true disciple of Christ. Be strong in the faith and faithful in suffering as a soldier of Christ top the list with presenting the best of self before God and man.

There would be some who fall away from the truth for some reason or other while God's people are constantly finely honed to be noble vessels in the kingdom of God; which do we choose? The right attitude and characteristics mold the Christian to be soul winners for Christ.

The Christian Faith is to be PASSED ON... it can be from one generation to another as in Timothy's family or it can be through other Christians touching others' lives with encouragement and faithfulness in words and deeds. Only be consistent and steadfast in our faith and deeds as the day of the Lord comes nearer.

Let us be confident of Him and what has been entrusted to us as God's people. Many believers would turn away from each other and the Lord to save their own skin and life. Have MERCY on your people, Lord!

Christian living is so different from the world's. It is all about humility and others first especially the body of Christ. How different from the world which advocates self glory! Righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness and gentleness are all virtues to be aimed at. Let us not miss these markers as we journey on in our faith.

God supplies ALL we need and to enjoy; how Great is our God. In Him, we lack nothing. Hence, only aim to be what He wants us to be. Then we shall enter into His Presence rejoicing.

How important to respect one another in God's kingdom for all are His creation made in His image! Therefore, it is right for each to hold others in higher esteem than self to God's pleasure and glory.

The true widow is one who is aged and alone with no children to support her; this is the one to extend help to. Timothy as a pastor of the church has many needs to be fulfilled including his own. How we need each other to bless and edify. This will help us unite against the enemy and remain strong in the Lord.

Yes, the days are coming or already here when the people of God would be deceived by the enemy through worldly standards and pressure. We need the spirit of discernment for living rightly before God to avoid getting enticed or blinded by the enemy.

We need to stay alert to the wiles of the enemy to stay liberated. Let us no longer be subject to spiritual chains that bind us again for Jesus has set us free. How important to REMEMBER our status, PRACTICE godly ways and HOLD FAST to God until He comes for us.

God is a God of order; there are specific roles for each member of Christ to stay united and strong in faith.
A peaceful lifestyle is the call of the day with intercessors, deacons, bishops and various roles exhibited in the body of Christ.

Christianity is always about relationships; CHRIST to man; man to man whether believers or non-believers. Believers exhibit a godly lifestyle to win non-believers into the kingdom of Christ. Hence, it is crucial for each Christian to play their role in Christ as called to the glory of God.

I imagine most Christians came into God's kingdom without the full picture. Salvation of God's love and forgiveness and eternal life filled our hearts blissfully without understanding the whole journey. Yes, we are enlisted into God's army to 'wage the good warfare' after salvation. It's a matter of time... when we realize our true calling and whether we want to heed the call.

But there are only TWO choices; the world (enemy) and God. Which do you choose? Better to be under God's hands than the other, I'd say.

My choice is clear... God, grant me Your grace and mercy.

Being saved is not the end but the start of a new journey... peace with God and goodwill to man as is the will of God. Christians need to spend their time wisely after salvation; their lives are bare for others to see and draw to Christ. Hence, we should spend our time well in Prayer and Work without being idle.

This is healthy spiritual exercise to keep our faith fit and strong.

Comfort In The Midst of Chaos

The time for the lawless one is coming where he will cause confusion and chaos but those who are steadfast in the Lord would be comforted and kept safe. They would be prepared for the things to come for they know it is coming; Jesus is coming in His glory and they hope in that.

That is the time to guard self against deception and lawlessness by staying close and true to the Lord. This would help avoid falling into delusions and falsehood that comes upon the world.

There IS A Purpose on the Christian on earth; we live for the Lord and the world may not appreciate the good news told. It is set on its own course which is destructive but the Lord Jesus provided a way of escape through the cross. Hence, our lifestyle is not as the world's.

We are made 'worthy' of God's kingdom and His calling to fulfill every work on earth by faith. It is hard to understand the ways of God without a personal relationship with Christ. The Christian's way of life is according to His will which may be difficult for those outside to comprehend fully.

Understanding Brings Preparation

How important to heed God's words for our lives and times so that we would not be caught surprised. Indeed, if we read and understand God's words, we would take the necessary preparations to be ready for whatever comes our way. Like the passage says, we would not be caught unaware.

The crux of the matter is whether we choose to start making the necessary preparations upon receiving God's Word. He reveals and unveils; how do we respond? Think Eternity!

It is important to build up one another with words that encourage so that the body of Christ is strong and united against the enemy that is constantly seeking to bring God's people down. God wants to sanctify His people and keep them sanctified for His glory.

God's people are exhorted to Love more and More. There is no end to Love for God is Love. (1 John 4:8) As we live as testimonies to others, we await the Lord's coming for His people. Hence, we shall be properly prepared when we put on Love.

A life worthy of God is one that strives to please God and not man. God is seeking those who would please Him with their lives and lifestyles.

And that includes evangelism and encouraging the body of Christ to be built up. That would be our reward from God; that we have something to show forth on Judgment Day.

Different people would receive the gospel in different circumstances but the initiation and the final outcome are the same; it is God's compelling love that initiates the gospel to be shared for salvation. And it is God's desire to have His creation return to Him at the end of day.

Some may receive the Word in affliction but that would bring more joy as they now have the hope for the final outcome. This is where they work in faith and love with steadfastness and power on their salvation to prepare themselves for Jesus' return.

So we do not stay idle but we work out our salvation to prove ourselves before God and man remembering that we serve a living and true God who sent His Son to die to redeem man. Hallelujah!

Accepting One Another

At the end of the letter, Paul always conveys greetings from other members of the body of Christ. It is an acknowledgement of their participation in the ministry to keep the body of Christ united. Sharing the works of others helps the church to understand what is happening elsewhere to avoid myopic vision on the works of Christ.

Each one in the body of Christ has a role to play; no one should belittle their own role and that of others. Accepting one another allows unity to blossom and Christ to be exalted.

Our real focus in life is Christ but it is hard to stay on course when we are filled with worldly issues. Hence, it is only proper for us to PUT OFF first the things of the world before we PUT ON the things of Christ to be Christ-like; for we are created in HIS Image.

We have been raised from death to life in Christ; hence, the first thing to PUT OFF is earthly characters so that we avoid the wrath of God. Then only can we PUT ON His characteristics. Above all, PUT ON LOVE for God is love and it binds everything in harmony.

Only then can we live our life to God's glory for we would desire to live to please Him alone. Everyone has a role while on earth according to God's will. This is how we shall please Him and receive our heavenly inheritance.

Completeness in Christ

Christ has provided all things necessary to live this life on earth to His glory. However, we need reminders from like-minded brethren to avoid being sucked in the deceits of the world and the enemy. 

It is God's good purpose to have us complete in Christ to enjoy His fullness through His riches and wisdom. How sad that God's people are not persistent in securing the best God has to offer. We tend to forget our heavenly citizenship to be lured and entrapped by the worldly system again and again. However, we need to persevere until we enjoy a total breakthrough to set ourselves apart for the Lord.

What an encouraging chapter where Christians are exhorted to live in the power of Christ Jesus, their Lord! How awesome a life we have as Christians with a purpose and destiny that is sure and victorious. It is then necessary to live our life worthy of His calling; Him who created us in His image and called us out of darkness and into His kingdom. It is so exhilarating to read of the glorious hope and joy we have in Christ.


Strive for maturity in Christ which is befitting every Christian who profess Christ as Lord and Savior.

When we are sure of our status in Christ, we can always rejoice in our identity. How marvelous and what an honor we have in Christ. But a lot of learning and unlearning needs to take place to be firmly positioned in Christ so that we are not swayed by the things of the world.

How important to learn contentment in Christ.. which is sufficiency in self for our Lord always provides more than enough. Joyful prayer, intense intercession and grateful supplications build up the inner man with a focus on Christ. This is how we shall stand firm in the Lord.

Final Outcome for the Final Destination

Philippians 3

The flesh or self may be very capable to be confident but it amounts to nothing in Jesus' eyes. It is best to lay bare before the Lord and have Him fill us with His Holy Spirit. This would lead us to PRESS ON to live for the Lord until He takes us home with Him.

How important to prepare for our destination rightly so that we may enter in at the right time. But when exactly is the time? No one knows... prepare now before we get caught by surprise.

So much to digest with the myriad of truths found in this chapter. It all starts with self which must be attuned to Christ; keep in mind to 'work out your own salvation with fear and trembling' (v12). Remember our focus at the end of the day.

When our own salvation is rightly established, we are strong in our faith to be a blessing to others which is what God wants of us. Our life is never about ourselves but blessing others because of God our Creator.
